Hello, hello, hello!!
This is my first monthly post of the year. Blogging isn’t new to me, but writing a long-form post is something I haven’t done in a while. Having been on Twitter for several years and more recently on Bluesky, I’m used to making threads and condensing my sentences to make them more digestible. Knowing I don’t have a character limit on my writing is quite freeing.
I don’t think I’ll be posting extremely personal information about my life on here, this is still a public website afterall. The ideas I have for my blog posts are to share some of my life experiences; but I primarily want to publish my current interests or ideas which typically are documenting my music habits, photography, and anything related to art.
I enjoy the term “digital scrapbook”- this blog really is a collage of everything I’m thinking about and that’s generally what my approach is when I post online. Documenting and sharing is something I enjoy and I’m quite happy I made this website to start another personal archive. Currently, I’m interested in writing monthly posts like this that compile a short description of personal thoughts.
Well, how was the first month of the year?
It's an assortment of feelings, this hodgepodge of inspiration, melancholy, and hopefulness.
Lately I’ve had to confront a lot of change and vulnerability; despite some of the difficult moments I have an immense appreciation for everything. January was a little blue but it had a lot of wonderful, sentimental moments. It’s been an introspective month, which I think is quite natural when the year ends and begins. It’s a new year and it’s also the last year of my 20’s, so lots of reflecting lol. I know I won’t magically transform into someone different when I turn 30 later this year, but knowing that I’ll be entering a new decade of my life can be a little shocking when I think about it too hard. It’s exciting but I also have this tense realization I’ve actually made it this far in life.
I wanted to ease into the new year so I didn’t overbook my personal schedule during this month (an honest achievement). I’ll be quite busy during February and the beginning of March, so I told myself to stay home a lot of the time haha. I prioritized rest and being more intentional with how I spend my time. How I’m “interacting” with my world is what I like to say. Because of this, I listened to a lot of music, watched a handful of movies, and went on many walks.
So far I like how the year is starting off and I feel happy about that.
